It recirculates exhaust gas to improve engine efficiency, reduce fuel consumption, and lower emissions. However, it is often overlooked and can become clogged over time. This can lead to failing emissions tests and cause the vehicle to run poorly. Especially when you add boost and new performance tuning. It is recommended to clean or replace the EGR valve every 50,000-60,000 miles or every 5 years to ensure optimal performance.
